Director of Development
A native of Washington State, Mary Hsue grew up in the shadow of Mt. Rainier, but did not venture outdoors to explore the peaks and crags of the Pacific Northwest and beyond until later in life when she discovered a passion for mountaineering when her new best girlfriends invited her to join them on training hikes as they prepared to climb Mt. Rainier. Her friends reached the summit of Mt. Rainier – two years later, Mary did the same. Her passion for climbing, willingness to take risks, and appreciation for the lessons learned in the outdoors was fueled by her male mentor, whom she often described as her harshest critic and biggest fan. He both challenged and championed her on towering crags and in the conference room.
A passionate fundraiser, communicator, and relationship-builder, Mary brings over a decade of
fundraising and storytelling experience to Camber Outdoors. She spent five years at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center as a donor events manager and then special gifts officer, and the past six years as development and communications director creating and growing the philanthropic gifts program for The Mountaineers.
Mary is responsible for providing strategic vision and leadership to Camber Outdoors’ efforts to grow and diversify its base of support to fund a vision of Everyone’s Outdoors through advancing women’s leadership in the outdoors.
