About the speaker
Nora Stowell grew up in the mountains of Maine and has been an outdoor enthusiast ever since. Over the past 20 years, she has channeled her passion for the sports she loves by working extensively in the outdoor, snow and sporting goods industries.
Nora has been with W.L. Gore & Associates for the past 2 years as Global Sales Leader for the Consumer Oriented Fabrics division. In this role she works directly with various brands in the outdoor, athletic and lifestyle markets who support Gore-Tex in their footwear, garments, gloves and accessories products. Prior to Gore, Nora spent 7 years with Amer Sports, restructuring many of their brands for profitable sustainable growth in the North American market. Her last role at Amer was Vice President of US specialty sales for Amer’s Winter, Outdoor and Cycle brands including Arc’teryx, Atomic, Mavic, Suunto and Salomon.
Nora is actively involved on the OIA board serving as Chair for the Nominations and Governance Committee and Vice Chairman for the Executive Committee. She has also been a staunch supporter for Camber from their OIWC beginnings, serving on their Governance Committee as well as actively involved in their mentorship program to help women advance into management.
Nora has a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College, where she ski raced Division I for four years and was captain of the team her senior year.
Nora lives in Park City, Utah, where she can be found mountain biking, trail running, hiking and skiing many of its world-renown trails with her tight knit community of family and friends.
