BOULDER, CO. (April 25, 2019) – Camber Outdoors, the hub for advancing career opportunities, leadership and entrepreneurship in the active-outdoors industries, is excited to announce the 2019 Camber Exchange series sponsors Bell and Giro, and beneficiaries Latino Outdoors and OUT There Adventures. As well as a Camber Exchange event on May 2 in Asheville, NC.
Hosted by Camber Outdoors partner companies, Camber Exchanges are meet-ups held throughout the U.S. that bring together a community of people with a love for the outdoors and the companies that support it. They are local events connect people in the active-outdoor industries who share interests, career objectives, and passion for the outdoors. These unique gatherings, hosted by Camber Outdoors member companies, gather women and men from all areas of the industries to network, spark ideas, learn from industry leaders, and participate in Camber Outdoors’ grassroots community.
“In 2018, 26 Camber Exchanges took place. With the theme of The Path to Leadership, 1,900 attendees and 52 speakers gathered to share in our vision of Everyone’s Outdoors,” said Diana Seung, Interim Executive Director of Camber Outdoors. “Thank you to the host partners as well as our generous sponsors Bell and Giro for making these events possible.”
This year, the proceeds of the Camber Exchanges will benefit Latino Outdoors, a nonprofit organization with the mission to inspire, connect, and engage Latino communities in the outdoors and embrace cultura y familia as part of the outdoor narrative, ensuring our history, heritage, and leadership are valued and represented.
“With the assistance of Camber Outdoors, Latino Outdoors will continue to support the trailblazing network of programs throughout the U.S. We are powered by volunteers who each come with a unique story of their journey to the outdoors, along with a keen appreciation for the valuable opportunities the outdoors provides for exploring both the landscape around us and the inscape within us,” said Maricela Rosales, Outdoor Advocacy Coordinator of Latino Outdoors, Camber Exchange 2019 Beneficiary.
These meet-ups will also benefit OUT There Adventures, a nonprofit adventure education organization committed to fostering positive identity development, individual empowerment and improved quality of life for queer young people through professionally facilitated experiential education activities.
“We’re excited to work with Camber Outdoors in service of continuing to change the narrative about who goes outside and how, and with specific emphasis on not only amplifying the voices of cisgender women, but of trans women and other underrepresented genders,” said Elyse Rylander, Executive Director of OUT There Adventures, Camber Exchange 2019 Beneficiary.
