Pitchfest accelerates the growth of innovative businesses in the active-outdoor industries and the individuals who lead them. Now in its fifth year, Pitchfest will host eight women- and minority-owned companies at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market event to an audience of over 350 business leaders, investors, and media. Meet eight companies that are shaping the future of the active-outdoor industries.


 

College Outside

The Big Idea: Through gear accessibility, education, community, and institutional discounts, College Outside aims to introduce more students to the outdoors.

Color Outside

The Big Idea: Color Outside is the go-to resource for women of color wanting to create soul stirring, joy-filled, adventurous lives. Through curated adventure experiences, transformational coaching and community, Color Outside helps women of color unlock where they’re feeling stuck so that they can fully step into their joy and shine.

Rsport

The Big Idea: Rsport provides Athena- and plus- size athletes with high-performing technical apparel built for their unique needs. By filling gaps in the performance apparel industry, the outdoors will become accessible to more people.

Coozie Outdoors

The Big Idea: Coozie Outdoors provides a gear rental service with delivery to anywhere in the continental US. Their business model provides a cost-effective alternative to buying, maintaining and storing gear and better serves the experience-driven consumer.

Kind Apparel

The Big Idea: Known for their bold pattern-making and sustainable fabrics, Kind Apparel creates adventure-ready wearables for gals who get after it.

Backcountry Pulse

The Big Idea: Backcountry Pulse is a global remote medicine and rescue education company offering partnership-based experiential wilderness medicine certification courses and scholarships propelling diversity and representation within outdoor leadership and guiding. Our curriculum is unique, tailored, and emphasizes not only the medical, trauma, and communication skills involved in a rescue but physiological tools for emotional agility long before and after a rescue.

Step By Step Run Co.

The Big Idea: Step By Step Run is changing the way people travel and run through their mobile lifestyle app. PacePartner connects travelers and locals alike for running excursions worldwide.

Zize Bikes

The Big Idea: Zize Bikes support riders up to 550 pounds, opening up the amazing and healthy world of cycling to the overweight and obese.
